For the more than one billion people of India (1.103 to be exact), speaking 1652 languages and living in seven lakh (7,00,000) villages, towns and cities in 28 states and 7 Union Territories. One person out of six in the world is an India. These one billion people belong to God.
As God says in Ezekiel 18:4 – “Know that all lives are mine, the life of the parent as well as the life of the child is mine.” Let us pray that everyone in India may hear the Good News and turn to the saving power of Jesus Christ. They are all our brothers and sisters and we need to pray for the spiritual welfare of each Indian.
As we pray, let us say with Esther, “How can I bear to see disaster fall on my people? How can I see the destruction of my family?” (Esther 8:6)

Modern agriculture, handcrafts and a wide range of modern industries and a multitude of support services. More than one third of the population is too poor to be able to afford an adequate diet. India is home to millions of people and many of them live in conditions of extreme poverty. Key development indicators. such as those related to public health or literacy, are among the lowest in the world and as it is in much of the world, it is the children who suffer most from poverty. Thousands live on the streets. Life can be even more difficult for girls because they are viewed as lesser citizens and education is usually not an option.
